About this board

Designed to be a daily driver with added wave range. Smooth outline fuller in the nose with a slight hip in the tail providing a pivot point to drive and carve tight turns in the pocket.

It’s a very versatile board for waves in the 2-5 Ft range.

The thickness is shifted slightly forward of centre and the deck relatively flat forward of centre enabling added volume and increasing paddle and wave catching.

While keeping the tail thickness and tail rails thinner for control and hold at speed.

Tail shape is somewhere between a round and squash tail so we’re calling it a thumb tail.

Made with either a Thruster set up or five fin option for more options.

Skill Level

This board is designed for Intermediate and Advanced level surfers.

A word about Tom Thumb from Steve

A daily driver with added wave range

Rocker

Mid entry rocker (more flip than the B-side) with accelerated tail rocker starting between the feet.

Bottom Contour

Full single concave deepest under the front foot increasing the sweet spot and generating speed. A slight bit of V after the rear fin gives the tail release.

Wide Dimensions

The widths have been adjusted proportionally nose to tail to give a higher volume easy to surf daily driver platform.

Keeping the full single concave and V off the tail block.

I’ve added a double concave running from the mid point of the stance and through the forward fin area. This helps the extra wide tail boards get on rail quicker and gives more lift while offering grip to maintain control in more grunty surf.

Rails

Medium boxy rails forward to middle of board providing performance in hollower sections but enough volume to handle fat sections and chop.

Lower rails in the tail for speed and control.
